2022/09/20(火) アメリカの病院の金もうけのやりかた
毎朝読んで、その日一日の活力をもらう文章がある。2日前だったか、病院の請求書係にオンラインメッセージングで送った文章である。請求内容の詳細を見たら、なんと、会えば、テストの売り込みしかせず、患者の私の身体の様子を一切見ない内科医が、オンラインのメッセージに125ドルをチャージし、患者はそのうち77ドルを払うことになっているではないか。なんやねん、これ。顔を見たわけでも、話したわけでもないのに、わずか2,3行のオンラインメッセージに125ドルかよ。それも、そのメッセージにあった耳鼻咽喉科やら皮膚科の医者への紹介状をもらったわけでもない。何の仕事もしてないのに、125ドルかよ。殺してやる、と思った。(笑)で、書いた手紙が以下の通り。5月の帯状疱疹は誤診だったのである。その誤診のために、いったい何度クリニックに行き、クスリをもらい、いやな思いをしたと思てんねん。なんで、テストの売り込みしかしないクズの無能の医者に金を払わなあかん。で、病院の内部事情がわかったような気がした。要するに、医者やら看護婦の評価は、患者からすこしでも多く金をしぼりとった者が勝ちなのである。だからあの医者、テストの売り込みしかしない。内科医なのに、聴診器で心臓を聞くことすらしない。こっちは心臓が悪いで、クスリも飲んでるというのにさ。自分の出世しか考えていない、無能でクズの医者。肩書なんかに惑わされるな。無能な人間は、医者だといった肩書とは関係なく存在するのだ。で、手紙は、請求書係だけではなく、医者宛てにも送ってやった。なんで、あのe-mailだけ請求が発生したんですか、教えてください。あと、手紙の全文を知りたかったら教えてくださいって。(笑)今のところ、医者のオフィスからも請求書係からも連絡なし。時間とって、よう考えろ。まだごちゃごちゃ言ってきたら、病院のCEOにでも、この手紙を送ってやる。(笑)

This is in regard to a charge of $77.97 for a "message visit" with Dr. ** on July 28, 2022 on my latest bill. I decline to pay this charge because I did not actually see or speak with the doctor, the message actually came from "Nurse **", and I have never been charged for a *** message before.  Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of proper care for this problem, which started with a rash on my face in May 2022. I was given the wrong diagnosis, shingles, by a young inexperienced doctor, Dr. ***, on May 23 at ***. Although I did not have pain with the rash on my face, only itching, I trusted him, but the right side of my face never returned to normal. When the rash returned in July, I visited *** again and told the nurse that I felt that something was wrong under my skin. But those nurses (nurse *** on July 22 and nurse *** on July 28) never touched the rash on my face. They just prescribed internally medicine after they reviewed my rash history. Those medicines did not improve the situation. When I finally demanded and saw a medical doctor at ***, Dr. *** was the first to actually touch my face and, though he could not tell what the rash actually was, he said with confidence that it was NOT shingles. On August 5th, when I showed Nurse ** a tiny rash between my fingers that accompanied the one on my face, she agreed that it was not shingles and was probably an allergy. Swimming pool water was a possible irritant. She prescribed a cream and the situation improved. I had my eyes checked and my eye doctor said that allergy was not from pool water as my eyes were fine.  On August 8th, I returned to Dr. *** expecting to learn more about my face rash and explore further treatment. But at first greeting, he said "you came here for a review of your blood tests, right?" This was disgusting to me, as I had already visited him in July for the blood test review, before the rash returned. He seemed unaware of my concern about the rash, even though all of my recent communication, including his "message visit", had concerned the rash. I feel humiliated and frustrated as a patient when I am treated with such disregard. I asked Dr.*** to give me a test for shingles on that day. The test results were negative, proving that Dr. ***original diagnosis had been wrong, and that I had wasted a lot of money, time, and energy on the wrong treatment.  In addition, Nurse ***prescribed my FOUR tubes of Triamcinolone Acetone Cream, not just one. I would not even be able to finish one tube in my life, as I apply the steroid thinly as directed. The pharmacy rejected a return and refund of three tubes, so more money was wasted.
In regard to the above-mentioned charge of $77.97, I decline to waste more money for a wrong diagnosis and simple email response. I believe that I have paid enough, considering the wrong diagnosis, unnecessary *** visit, and a wasteful amount of steroid cream.
Please send me another bill with that charge removed.
病院が誤診の責任をとって、5月からの”帯状疱疹”に関するすべての請求をチャラにしたら、ちょっとは病院を信じてやってもいいぞ。。さあ、どう出てくるか。楽しみ、楽しみとほくそ笑んだつもりで、一日が始まる。これがアメリカで生きるということ。つかれる〜〜〜。(笑怒悲笑)
